This is one of the biggest concerns we have as parents –our kids either googling or stumbling upon things they shouldn’t see. Most people don’t realize that Apple sells all iOS Devices with settings defaulted to allow explicit content. Fortunately, it takes just 30 seconds to change the settings. It’s easy to make sure your kids are safe!

Step 1: Settings> General> RestrictionsEnable Restrictions. Choose a passcode different from your phone’s passcode and be sure to store it somewhere memorable.

Step 2: Find the subheading in Restrictions called Allowed Content: Select ratings for the United States.

Step 3: Tap on Websites > Tap Limit Adult Content

There are also settings you can change for Music, Movies, TV ShowsPodcasts, iBooks and Siri to make sure you filter out explicit content or select appropriate age levels.

Once you’ve adjusted these settings on your children’s devices, you’ll likely want to revisit them on your devices too. You can check off your entire family in under 10 minutes! Please share this message with friends too. It’s all about Friends Helping Friends…

Apple, so many parents are not aware of this functionality, and this could be so easily fixed this during device setup or Apple ID creation.
